Boeing Surveillance Strategy in Conjunction with Nadcap Accreditation
The Boeing Strategy concerning its management of D1-4426 Special Processors utilizing Nadcap accreditation is as follows:
- Selection of processors is based on listing in D1-4426 and not the Nadcap QML.
- Process codes as designated in this document are required to be accredited by Nadcap commodity and applicable checklist.
- The frequency of surveillance activities such as process audits and product audits are recommended by a Risk
Assessment Tool.
- This Risk Assessment Tool uses the processor performance history and approved process codes to recommend the number and type of on-site audits for the year.
- If the process codes listed in the D1-4426 have been accredited by Nadcap, processors with good performance history will have the frequency of surveillance extended or the audit duration reduced by targeting a product/specification.
- If there are process codes not accredited by Nadcap, the Boeing process representative will perform those audits.
- Boeing is required to perform initial D1-4426 approvals.
- All processors will have a Boeing maintenance audit at a minimum frequency of three years.
